Hi. I’m Kira 

--Portrait Photographer and Owner of “Kira Palmer Photography, LLC”.

I'm originally a California Girl. Since leaving home I've traveled extensively --landing unexpectedly in Norfolk, VA in 2016. I currently reside there with my spouse, toddler, Wapoo, and large cabinet of camera equipment.

My road here was winding, but gave me the perfect skills to tell your story.

Although I've had a camera since 1999, my early career focus was elsewhere --first in Theatre, then in Communication Studies and Coaching. Through these experiences, I stocked up on skills I would need later as a portrait photographer. For years, my days were spent practicing lighting, composition, and how to bringing out the best in people (among other things). Then, after my son was born  in 2015, I went from shooting a few hundred digital photos a week to about 300 digital shots a day. Thousands of pictures later, I bought a professional camera and opened "Kira Palmer Photography, LLC" in the Spring of 2018.

My goal is to capture the story of YOU.

 To do this, I use natural environments/lighting, some physical/ mental coaching to help you feel your best self on camera, and a photo-journalistic shooting style. We work together to create a compelling visual narrative of your story whether that includes your: pet, family, career, romance, or special event.
